West Coast-based streetwear retail giant Undefeated has a new collab ready for retail shelves, a look that will have its wearers venturing “from the Pacific seafront to the Mojave Desert.”
Arriving Sept. 9 as part of the Adidas Consortium Tour is Undefeated’s take on an Adidas skate classic, the Busenitz. The shoe, according to Undefeated, “ventures beyond the shoreline and into the vast desert.”
The soccer shoe-turned-skate silhouette is dressed in a sand color, with the hue taking up the upper, midsole and outsole. Offering a visual distraction to the monochromatic shoe is camouflage detailing on the medial three-stripe Adidas branding and its extended tongue.
Although a majority of the shoe is executed in suede, this iteration also features a material familiar to the military — Cordura nylon. According to Undefeated, the material was used to match the shoe’s overall military aesthetic.
The legendary retailer hasn’t dropped many collabs lately, but when it does, the shoes have become instant must-haves. In July, Undefeated teamed with Nike for the release of the “LA Huarache,” boasting a blue suede upper and an iridescent panel that extends from the lateral side to the medial, inspired by Crenshaw Boulevard and California’s well-known lowrider car culture.
In October, Bait owner Peng Cheng expanded his ownership portfolio by becoming co-owner of Undefeated.
