Kids everywhere are counting down the days until Halloween, when they can slip into their costumes and hit the streets for some trick-or-treating.
But why wait? We’ve found a super-fun way for kids to get into the Halloween spirit all month long. A number of footwear brands, such as Converse and Chooze, are serving up playful, holiday-inspired styles for little ones. With themes including friendly jack-o-lanterns, black cats, creepy monsters, skeletons and ghosts, there is something for everyone.
The festive prints and graphics come to life on a mix of different shoe silhouettes, including casual slip-on and high-top sneakers, as well as dressier ballet flats, loafers and Mary Jane shoes. There are even some adorable little booties and fringed moccasins for babies.
And it wouldn’t be Halloween without special effects: Some styles, like Dr. Martens’ skeleton-print boot, incorporate glow-in-the-dark accents, while others, such as Converse’s Pumpkin Creature sneaker, feature 3-D details.
Even better, several of the holiday motifs, including skulls and cats, are perennial fashion trends for kids, so they can be worn long after the last piece of Halloween candy has been eaten.
