Stephanie George Named Fairchild Vice Chairman

Stephanie George is returning to Fairchild Media Inc., a division of Penske Media Corp. and parent company of Footwear News, as vice chairman of the company.

As reported by FN sister magazine, Women’s Wear Daily, George will start in February. In her new role she will manage the business end of all Fairchild properties.

George’s career at Fairchild began in 1988 when she joined WWD as a sales assistant in Atlanta, and eventually rose to president of WWD and EVP of Fairchild, where she helped to lead the launches of WWD Collections and Beauty Inc. She left in 2001 to join Time Inc. as president of InStyle magazine.

George served as the EVP and chief marketing officer of Time Inc before leaving to rejoin Fairchild.
