Another classic iteration of an Allen Iverson signature shoe with Reebok is making its way back to stores.
The heritage athletic brand announced today that the iconic Answer 4 “Stepover” will release again next month in celebration of the shoe’s 20th birthday. The forthcoming release comes on the heels of the the shoe’s original white and red colorway reissue last month.
Iverson laced up the Reebok Answer 4 “Stepover” in Game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals. During the contest, he famously crossed over Tyronn Lue of the Los Angeles Lakers, dropping him to the floor before draining a baseline jumper, finishing by stepping over him. The shoe features a predominantly white leather upper that’s contrasted by black overlay panels. Additional details include the signature zipper shroud covering the midfoot, Iverson’s “I3” logo on the lateral side as well as a DMX foam midsole.
“Answer 4 is the crown jewel of Iverson’s journey and the cultural shift he helped to lead,” recalled veteran Reebok footwear designer Xavier Jones in a statement. “By his 2000-’01 season, [Iverson] was already so beloved for his style and how he approached the game, but that year truly cemented A.I. as a cultural icon. On his feet, Answer 4 became a symbol for the new era of modern athlete and a celebration of self-expression. It is without a doubt one of the most iconic sneakers to ever grace the hardwood.”
The Reebok Answer 4 “Stepover” will be released on June 4 at Reebok.com and at select Reebok retailers globally. The shoe will come with a $130 price tag.
