Greats has teamed up with a fried chicken restaurant for its latest sneaker collaboration.
The Brooklyn-based footwear brand has tapped Fuku to give its popular Royale silhouette a new look. According to the two collaborators, this special collab is designed to celebrate National Fried Chicken Day that is being observed today.
The Fuku x Greats Royale shoe adorns a white-based leather upper and is paired with matching shoelaces but also comes with a sauce container on the side, which contains an extra pair of orange shoelaces. Adding to the design is a bright red sock liner and heel counter resembling Fuku’s signature sauce drip. Rounding out the design is a scannable QR code on the tongue that brings you directly to a donation page for ROAR (Restaurants Organizing Advocating Rebuilding), which is an organization founded in March 2020 whose goal is to advocate for unemployed restaurant workers facing financial hardship from the coronavirus pandemic.
The Fuku x Greats Royale collab is currently available to shop in both men’s and women’s sizing at Greats.com and at Greats’ retail locations in New York City. The shoe comes with a $189 price tag. In addition to the aforementioned donation page to ROAR, Greats is also donating $1.00 to support the Greats Impact Fund with each purchase of its shoes.
