Bape has teamed up with longtime collaborator Timberland for its next footwear release.
After putting a new spin on the popular 6-inch boot in 2018, the streetwear brand and the footwear company are partnering yet again for fall ’21 to reimagine the 3-Eye Lug and Chukka boots.
According to Bape, it included the first silhouette in this collection to pay homage to Timberland’s original silhouette while celebrating the brand’s famous “Wheat” color and handsewn construction combined with its recognizable camo print. The upper of the collaborative 3-Eye Lug style features a two-toned color blocking with dark brown and blue hues appearing on the mudguard and is contrasted by wheat on the top portion and green shoelaces.
For the Chukka boot, Bape’s signature camo print appears throughout the entirety of the premium wheat leather upper while black accents appear on the ankle collar and star stripe overlay panel on the sides. Rounding out the design is a durable lug sole.
Both pairs are also made with Timberland’s Better Leather, which is created with environmentally conscience materials including the ReBOTL fabric made from at least 50% recycled plastic and Primaloft made from 55% recycled post-consumer materials.
According to Bape, it also created an “arcade” themed campaign for the shoes “reflecting the fun and playful nature of BAPE and Timberland’s commitment to a greener future. The campaign will come to life across social and digital platforms.”
