Vans has made a name for itself with lifestyle shoes that blend perfectly into a city setting. But they’ve also made a reputation for utilitarian footwear like surf shoes and skiing boots. The lifestyle brand’s MTE range blends those two sides to create stylish footwear that works in a variety of weather conditions. With the launch of its upcoming Sk8-Hi MTE-2 collection on Sept. 1, Vans is taking another step in that direction by adding a series of colorways to the lineup.
Each MTE shoe features an All-Trac outsole, which is an exclusive all-weather rubber compound that creates greatly improved traction. Other features include a HydroGuard 360-degree water-resistant membrane to keep you dry, PrimaLoft zonal insulation that thermoregulates cold weather to keep you warm, and a single-density molded sockliner for extra comfort. On top of all of that, the water-resistant leather uppers and graphics are all done in the classic Vans aesthetic.
Among the colorways, the MTE-2 range includes a shoe designed with khaki-colored uppers and color blocking on the quarter and tongue, and the iconic Vans Sidestripe in marshmallow. It also features gold and black hiking-inspired laces, which completes the outdoorsy look. The pomegranate and leopard colorway is a bold, creative take that features brick red and merlot uppers with a khaki collar, electric blue Sidestripe and pull tabs, as well as leopard print color blocking on the quarters and tongue. There’s also an all-black shoe and a tan counterpart that comes with leopard-print panels.
The Sk8-Hi MTE-2 collection will be available on Vans.com and at retail.
