Kylie Jenner hit the town in bold fashion this week, debuting a statement-making spring ensemble for a friend’s birthday dinner in Los Angeles.
Teasing the look on social media on Wednesday, the Kylie Cosmetics founder tapped European label Ioannes for the main element of her outfit: a printed backless dress. The stretch-mesh maxi design features a green and beige print with a daring dipped back, all retailing for $720 at Net-a-Porter.
The younger Kardashian sister then the standout look with her choice of almost invisible heels. The strappy sandals came complete with clear PVC uppers and a nude base, bearing resemblance to her new favorite Gianvito Rossi’s Metropolis silhouette. The design flatters the foot with its barely-there nature, set atop a 4.3-inch heel with a retail price of $775 at Farfetch.
Kylie’s outfit also included a trending gold anklet for footwear. Anklets became a must-have accessory throughout the 1990s and have since experienced a revival in tandem with a revitalization of major ’90s style trends, including square-toe footwear, mom jeans and platforms. In 2020 and now 2021, anklets served as an easy way to add glitz to an ensemble, even while going barefoot in the comfort of one’s own home. You can find them on stars near and far including Vanessa Hudgens, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Rita Ora and, of course, Kylie Jenner.
When it comes to footwear and shoes, Kylie has an impressive history specifically in the sneaker industry. Before she was a beauty mogul, the Kylie Skin founder held multiple gigs in the sneaker world. She formerly served as a brand ambassador for Puma before joining forces with Adidas in August 2018, exclusively wearing Three Stripes styles in campaigns and across social media.
At the start of 2020, though, the media personality posted photos of herself wearing a series of Swoosh sneakers, leading fans to speculate that her contract with Adidas had expired. Since then, Kylie has continued wearing rare Nike and Jordan Brand kicks. When she isn’t in sneakers, the reality television star favors everything from Giuseppe Zanotti zebra sandals to Dior knee-high boots to clear Yeezy pumps matched to apparel from Balmain, LaQuan Smith and Marine Serre amongst other top brands.
