Gabrielle Union is bringing this hit sandal trend into the new year with a little help from her effortlessly chic attire.

The “Bring It On” alumna joined her husband, former NBA star Dwyane Wade, for a standout couple style moment on Instagram last night, posing out by the pool. Union’s look in particular combined a few hit silhouettes from Paris Georgia, Stone and Anna Quan; the outfit layered a crisscross knitted bralette and coordinating maxi skirt under an oversize blazer.

On her feet, the “L.A.’s Finest” actress tapped the beloved big toe sandal trend. Union’s pair, in particular, featured an all-white design atop a square-toe front, being resemblance to designs from Cult Gaia and Alexandre Birman amongst other hit brands.

Big-toe silhouettes became a celebrity-endorsed style in the summer of 2019 and have since continued to appear on the likes of Katy Perry, Gabrielle Union and Katie Holmes amongst others. The style offers a laid-back appeal with the stability and familiarity of the 1990s, a common theme amongst “it” girl trends this season.

Union herself is no stranger to top-of-the-line looks, posing in a mix of bold spring outfits across her social media in the past few weeks. In February, for example, she strutted across her backyard yesterday in a layered black outfit. The ensemble included a $590 cinched leather bralette from Dion Lee, available at Farfetch, matched to chain-linked, low-rise pants from the designer.

Her square-toe heels were also on-trend, highlighting slick leather uppers, set with a thick-banded strap and a coordinating leather sole. The design comes courtesy of By Far and also features a uniquely shaped block heel, measuring close to 4 inches in height. You can shop Union’s choice of mules for $435 at Farfetch.com.

When it comes to fashion, Union herself has had a lengthy partnership with New York & Co. that has led to successful collections, including a size-inclusive capsule for the holidays in December 2019. The actress also serves as a brand ambassador for SensatioNail and served as a spokesperson for years for Neutrogena.

As for red carpet style and off-duty attire, you can find the “Being Mary Jane” actress in everything from Chanel, Cong Tri and Valentino to Cos, Reformation and, of course, her husband Dwyane Wade’s Way of Wade sneakers.
