How to Watch the Livestream
The Vogue livestream of the 2021 Met Gala will take place on Sept. 13, at 5:30 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the red carpet action on Twitter at twitter.com/voguemagazine. More details are to come with additional ways to stream the event.
What Was This Year’s Theme?
This year, the dress code is “American Independence” as the Costume Institute’s exhibition showcases a timeline of national fashion history, appropriately titled: “Part One — In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” The exhibition is the first of a two-part series that will open on Sept. 18, 2021, and will remain on display when “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” opens on May 5, 2022. Both shows will run through Sept. 5, 2022.
Who Is Making Appearances?
The intimate celebration will include an address from Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The co-chairs for this year’s event are Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman and Naomi Osaka.
