Kate Middleton and Prince William honored Scotland’s Burns Night celebrations with a new message today for the frontline workers at NHS Tayside in Dundee, Scotland. Burns Night is an annual holiday commemorating the work and life of poet Robert Burns.
To honor the event, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a video today on social media discussing the holiday and sharing their thanks for the healthcare community.
For the video, Middleton paid homage to the heritage of Scotland in a tartan puff-sleeve skirt complete with a white contrasting collar and cuffs and a belt-cinched skirt, both from Emilia Wickstead; tartan is a historic cloth for the country and dates back centuries as part of the traditional attire of highlanders. The Duchess then complimented the look with a set of gold pearl-adorned hoop earrings.
“Slàinte Mhath! This #BurnsNight, we’ve teamed up with @nhscharitiestogether to provide staff at @nhstayside with a Burns celebration lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties,” wrote the royal family in their caption. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you to Tayside Health Fund and NHS Charities Together, and Royal Warrant Holders @valvonacrolla @fisheranddonaldson for their kind donations to NHS Tayside staff this Burns Night.”
As for Kate Middleton herself, in the royal style icon’s rotation of stylish heels, she tends to include pumps from Jimmy Choo, Stuart Weitzman and Gianvito Rossi amongst other top brands. Her closet also holds a few high-priced items like dresses from Catherine Walker of course along with Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta and more top names.
Beyond her designer heels and frocks, the Duchess of Cambridge also loops in a series of more wallet-friendly brands; Castañer is just one of many affordable labels that she frequents in addition to styles from New Balance, Zara, Marks & Spencer, Adidas and Superga.
