Ivanka Trump joined her family this morning as they awaited the final departure of President Donald Trump and Melania Trump. Present for the event was Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner and their three kids as well as Donald Trump Jr., his partner Kimberly Guilfoyle, Eric Trump and his wife Lara Trump, and Tiffany Trump alongside her new fiancé, Michael Boulos.
President Trump and Melania left the White House early this morning in their final move as acting president and first lady. Before the first couple boarded Air Force One for President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, his family stood on the jetway of Andrews Air Force Base, Md.
For the occasion, Ivanka opted for a double-breasted black and white coat dress for the occasion, matched to slouchy black suede boots; the design bears resemblance to similar silhouettes that the first daughter previously wore from Gianvito Rossi.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ inauguration will make history today for a myriad of reasons. Biden will be the oldest person ever sworn in as president while Harris will become the first-ever female vice president of the United States. The daughter of Jamaican and Indian immigrants, she will also be the first Black person and first person of South Asian descent to serve in the second-highest office. She joins President Joe Biden in leading a country left on the edge of its seat following the second impeachment of current President Donald Trump by the House of Representatives last week.
Last week, President Trump also announced that he and Melania will not be in attendance at today’s inauguration ceremony of Joe Biden, making him the first president in modern times to skip his successor’s swearing-in.
