Chrissy Teigen made her way to Washington D.C. last night to support her husband, John Legend, before his performance during Inauguration Day — and she did so with signature flair and style.
The model visited a few major spots across the district including the Washington Monument where she paid her respects to the over 400,000 lives lost during the pandemic. She also met with military servicewomen and men as they got “lost on the way to soundcheck.”
For her first night in the capital, Teigen pulled off the growing monochrome trend with ease in a taupe trench coat layered over a coordinating ankle-length silk slip dress.
In a classic move for the media personality, Teigen topped off her outfit with the chicest thigh-high boots. Thigh-high boots have quickly become the must-have boot silhouette this season. From leather twists on the trend to edgy lace-up styles, you can find the daringly high shoes on everyone from Ciara to Lily Collins and Gwen Stefani amongst other major stars. In colder temperatures, the silhouette offers coverage to counter shorter hems of skirts and shorts as well as provides an extra layer to any leggings or jeans look.
Teigen herself favors the silhouette to accent all her cold weather-ready looks, already sporting the design in a mix of outfits this winter.
Tonight, a primetime special, titled “Celebrating America,” will spotlight American heroes and is scheduled to take place at 8:30 p.m. ET. The 90-minute program will be hosted by Tom Hanks and will feature speeches from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris themselves. Bruce Springsteen, the Foo Fighters, John Legend, Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington will also make appearances.
“Celebrating America” will broadcast live on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC. It will also be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Twitch.
As for Teigen herself, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model’s own footwear and apparel closet includes an endless list of designer names such as Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Valentino and Aquazzura to name a few. Beyond her personal style choices, the best-selling cookbook author serves as an ambassador for Procter & Gamble; she has modeled in campaigns for the likes of Ugg, The Gap, Revolve, Quay Eyewear and more throughout her impressive career.
