Although fewer brands exhibited at this year’s Outdoor Retailer summer trade show than in years past, the ones in attendance revealed what they will deliver in spring ’22 — and there were some standout looks.
The top products included shoes and socks for both the adventurer and the casual outdoor enthusiast, from brands including Oofos, Lowa, Wolverine and others.
Below, check out the 17 best looks shown at OR Summer.
Without having an outdoor adventure model in its range, Oofos created the Oocandoo, pictured above, which is a look the brand has described as “your everything adventure shoe.” This lightweight and packable style is best worn post-hike, and is built with flexibility and width to help with swollen feet and ankles. It is one-piece injection molded, won’t absorb liquid and moisture, and is equipped with the brand’s acclaimed Oofoam cushioning. It is scheduled for an April 2022 release and will retail for $100.
Vasque Torre XT
For spring ’22, Vasque will deliver the Torre XT, a modern lightweight technical hiking boot that is “built to go out and up.” The look includes several industry-leading technologies such as Gore-Tex waterproofing and Vibram Megagrip outsoles with its Lightbase tech, making it grippy and durable.
Arc’Teryx Aerios Mid GTX
The Arc’Teryx Aerios Mid GTX for spring ’22 is made for a multi-day backpacking journey, inspired by the technical terrain of Canada’s west coast trails. It is built for all-day comfort and protection, and features Vibram XS Trek outsoles with an aggressive lug pattern, as well as the brand’s pre-shaped, 3-D articulated Ultralon Foam ankle and tongue package.
Lowa is making everyday outdoor footwear its focus for spring ’22, and the brand will lead the push with the Fusion. The style is its first knit upper look, which is made for the emerging outdoor consumer who wants to either hit the trail or wear something with a more rugged aesthetic. It is built with a PU monowrap for lateral stability without adding weight and a quick lace lacing system. It will retail for $170 and come in both men’s and women’s sizing.
The Lamo-Lite collection for spring ’22 is a lifestyle-focused range for people attracted to outdoor aesthetics, with an emphasis on the trendy classic boat shoe silhouette. The Michael (far left) is an existing style with knit uppers that will get a new colorway for the season. From there, Lamo will deliver a trio of new styles: the Calvin with canvas uppers, the Desmond with smoother canvas uppers and the Justin, made with jersey knit. All of the looks feature hyper-cushioned footbeds and EVA midsoles, and will retail from $40-$60.
Wolverine Torrent and Frost
Wolverine has a pair of must-have winter boots for women coming this fall, as part of the brand’s push for a stronger presence in the outdoor market. The Torrent, which will retail for $100, is fleece lined, has a side zipper and is water resistant. And the Frost, a look built with 3M Thinsulate, will retail for $149. Also, the brand confirmed with FN that a new Wolverine Outdoor account on Instagram is coming soon.
Farm to Feet Eureka Sock
The first sock on the list is the Eureka from Farm to Feet, which is part of the brand’s Outdoor Community collection that is named after strong outdoor communities. This sock is made with 100% U.S. merino wool and features lightly padded footbeds and seamless toes. It will arrive in spring ’22 and retail for $22.
Sidas Run Feel and Trail Protect Socks
Sidas has two new socks coming for spring ’22: the Run Feel and the Trail Protect. The Trail Protect is taller than its running counterpart, which is ideal for trail running. Also, it has a grip zone at the midfoot that keeps your foot stable in the shoe, as well as additional more padding at the heel, toe and ankle bones. As for the Run Feel, there is less padding in heel and toe than the Trail Protect and also features a lower cut. Also, there are two grip zones in the front and one in heel. Pricing will range from $15-$24, and there will be four colorways for the run style and two for the trail.
Xtratuf Sharkbyte and Ankle Deck Boot Eco
Xtratuf is focusing on sustainability for spring ’22 with a pair of silhouettes. First, the brand will deliver a new version of the Sharkbyte for $90, which is built with canvas uppers made using Econyl regenerated nylon. There will be two men’s colorways and three for women. Also, the brand will deliver the Ankle Deck Boot Eco, which is made from Yulex natural rubber. It is waterproof and features the same outsole as the inline version. There will be one colorway for men and one for women.
Muck Outscape Lace
Muck will deliver the Outscape Lace for spring ’22, a look designed for the farm and agriculture consumer. The style is made for the person who has a preference of sneakers, featuring an athletic-inspired midsole, bootie construction and the brand’s Shovel-Ready Shank. It will come in men’s and women’s sizing and retail for $125.

It features the company’s All Terra traction, EVA outsoles and covered toes for protection. It will retail for $59.
