Hasan Minhaj is a multihyphenate with underrated style, which makes his forthcoming collaboration with Cole Haan that much more compelling.
This month, Cole Haan will deliver the first looks from its limited-edition with Minhaj collection, which includes new iterations of the 4.Zerogrand Hiker and the GrandPro Rally Court sneaker. The line, according to the performance lifestyle footwear brand, is inspired by his “personal and familial journey to inspire others and write their own rules.”
“In 1982 my father arrived in America, leaving his home so I could build mine. He fought to survive, so I could live,” Minhaj said in a statement. “I’ve woven our story into the fabric of Cole Haan, hoping it inspires those to step into their own and rewrite the rules.”
The first launch will be two colorways of the 4.Zerogrand Hiker. One look is predominantly black with white speckled midsoles, while the second take features wheat and beige hues with hits of red and white speckled midsoles. The boots are executed with waterproof materials, triple-density foam cushioning for support and comfort, deep flex grooves designed to offer natural range of motion and TPU outsoles that are both durable and lightweight.

The Cole Haan x Hasan Minhaj 4.Zerogrand Hikers arrive today via Colehaan.com and in select Cole Haan stores worldwide.
In December, the brand will deliver the GrandPro Rally Court sneakers from the Minhaj collection. According to Cole Haan, the looks are inspired by his Urdu heritage. To deliver on the inspiration, the words “Live” and “Survive” are featured on the tongues along with the date that he got his first TV job in 2014.
“Oct. 9, 2014 was huge for me because everything changed after I auditioned with Jon Stewart. I wanted to pay tribute to that in the shoes,” Minhaj said in a statement. “Maybe Oct. 9 won’t be special to anyone else, unless you have that birthday. But it’s coincidentally National Sneakers Day, so obviously this is fate.”
Although Cole Haan revealed the month for the GrandPro Rally Court sneakers from the Minhaj line, the release date has not yet been announced.
The line ranges in price from $170 to $270.
To execute the vision of the Minhaj collection, the lifestyle brand recruited collaborator Jeff Staple and his Reed Art Department creative agency in an advisory capacity.
