To keep the momentum going for the 40th anniversary of “The Empire Strikes Back,” Adidas and the Star Wars franchise have yet another sneaker that will be released to honor the milestone.
The Stars Wars x Adidas Top Ten Hi “Boba Fett” is expected to go on sale Sept. 24, 2020m at 6 p.m. GMT, on adidas.co.uk. The collab follows the release sneakers inspired by Luke Skywalker Stan Smiths and the now sold-out Stormtrooper NMD R1s that came out earlier this year. Adidas’ latest Star Wars-themed sneaker will retail for £85, or $110 USD.
The Star Wars x Adidas Top Ten “Boba Fett” is a redesign of the German footwear brand’s classic high top silhouette that debuted in 1979. The sneaker honors “the mysterious bounty hunter with few words and many fans,” writes Adidas online.
Several of the sneaker’s details are reminiscent of the character’s armor, including the military green leather upper features holes and cracks just like Boba Fett’s original outfit. Inside, the sock liner shows Boba Fett standing at Lando Calrissian’s base next to Darth Vader’s troopers. The sneaker also features a side pouch and on the inside flap of the attached pocket, his iconic line is printed: “You can run, but you’ll only die tired.”
The lace-up shoe also comes with a special-edition collector’s box that resembles the packaging of what officially licensed products are sold in.
The sneakers come with a poster and an extra set of Star Wars lace jewels that read “Boba” and “Fett.” (The sneakers come laced with “Star” and “Wars” jewels in the box.)
Although Star Wars fans can’t snag the shoes quite yet, shoppers can visit adidas.co.uk to set a calendar reminder or sign up for email notifications so they can be alerted when the sneakers drop on Sept. 24, 2020.
The “Boba Fett” Hi is Adidas’ fourth collab with Lucasfilm that’s dedicated to characters from Episode V of Star Wars “The Empire Strikes Back.” To check out more Star Wars-inspired sneakers by Adidas visit adidas.com.
