The Reebok Classic Leather Legacy is out now, and to build momentum for its latest lifestyle sneaker, the brand has launched a mentorship contest with multi-platinum singer Khalid.
Reebok and The Great Khalid Foundation have created the “Write Your Legacy” contest, which the athletic label said will offer an aspiring singer-songwriter the chance to be mentored by Khalid. The program, according to Reebok, will include two 60-minute singing and songwriting virtual workshops with Khalid alongside his producers, Denis Kosiak and Khyire Tyler. The winner will also receive $10,000 to get their music career going as well as a year’s worth of Reebok footwear and apparel.
People can enter now through Aug. 18 at Reebok.com/legacy with a 2-minute video explaining what they want their legacy to be and a minute sample of their singing. On Sept.1, the winner will be notified.

“The voices of young people need to be heard and amplified,” Khalid said in a statement. “For me and so many other young artists, music isn’t just a form of self-expression — it is our life, it is our air, it is who we are, it is how we breath and it is how we share our stories with the future. I am thrilled to help an upcoming artist find their voice and write their own legacy.”
The contest comes as Reebok releases its Classic Leather Legacy sneaker, a new take on its iconic Classic Leather silhouette from 1983 that also features nods to its Aztec shoe from 1979.
The look features traditional rubber outsoles that are paired with chunky midsoles with a color and texture contrasted cutline near the heel. Also, the shoe includes mixed-media uppers featuring ripstop nylon, suede and leather.
