A classic Nike Dunk High colorway is reportedly returning to shelves next month.
Social media sneaker leak account @zSneakerheadz shared photos of the forthcoming Dunk High “Varsity Maize” release — which is also referred to as “Iowa” — on Instagram. In the caption, the account stated the shoe will be released at select Nike Sportswear stockists in December for $120.
The style wears vibrant yellow accents on the black-based leather upper that’s contrasted with a white midsole and yellow rubber outsole. The shoe comes with matching black and yellow shoelaces.
Although @zSneakerheadz revealed the info on Instagram, release details have not been announced by Nike.
The Nike Dunk debuted in 1985 as part of a massive “Be True To Your School” collection with each color scheme representing a different college program. Although Nike has not confirmed affiliation, this pair is delivered in the University of Iowa colors, wearing the Hawkeyes’ bold yellow and black team hues.
In related Nike Dunk news, the Nike Dunk earned the 2020 Shoe of the Year nod from FN and will be celebrated at the first-ever virtual FN Achievement Awards next month. The model had one of its biggest resurgences ever this year, largely fueled by returning classic styles as well as new iterations created in collaboration with Travis Scott and Ben & Jerry’s.
