Dubai’s Frame skate shop is set to deliver a new collaboration with Nike Skateboarding.
The sportswear giant confirmed that the Frame x Nike SB Dunk Low “Habibi” will release at two separate times this week. Frame also revealed that Dubai was the inspiration behind its first collaboration with Nike SB.
In the city, people of different races, gender, age and culture coexist and the common element that’s shared is love. The name of the “Habibi” Dunk Low directly translates to “my love” in Arabic, which ties together the love for skateboarding, sneakers and the city where Frame was founded.
The shoe wears a bold white, red and green color scheme — serving as a nod to the colors of the Middle East — on an upper comprised of leather and corduroy, which is used a representation of love. The diamond ripstop on the quarter panels is reminiscent of the traditional fishnets that once filled the harbors in the city. Adding to the look are black and white tongues representing equality between men and women, while double-stacked Swooshes in black and green also appear on the sides. The look is finished off with a gum outsole that’s inspired by the desert dunes near the city.
The Frame x Nike SB Dunk Low will be released exclusively at Frame skate shop on Dec. 2 followed by a global release on the SNKRS app and at select Nike SB stockists on Dec. 5. The shoe will come with a $110 price tag.
