First lady of France Brigitte Macron joined her husband, French President Emmanuel Macron, this morning for a visit at OSE (Œuvre de Secours Aux Enfants) in Paris; the association works with children with disabilities and illnesses as well as the elderly population suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
For the visit today, Brigitte Macron went for a twist on business casual style in a layered classic white T-shirt under a chic padded-shoulder pinstripe blazer. For pants, the first lady opted for black skinny jeans and stayed safe in a smooth white face mask.
As for footwear, it was a set of chic fall booties for the outing; the pair selected by Brigitte included a subtle squared-off toe atop black suede uppers and a chunky block heel. Black footwear and especially black boots are a staple in the French first lady’s footwear closet. In September, the former educator showed off another block-heeled style as she visited Condom, France with her husband.
For the visit on Sept. 18, Brigitte matched the chunky boots to a soft pink blouse and classic black skinny jeans in a fall-ready look; she accented the ensemble with her favorite pastel trench coat from Louis Vuitton. Worn earlier this year for Bastille Day festivities, the midi-length piece comes adorned with metallic silver buttons and sharply tailored lapels, with similar silhouettes retailing for $5,700 on the brand’s website.
When it comes to the French first lady’s style, she oftentimes favors Louis Vuitton when it comes to clothing, shoes and accessories. With footwear, specifically, she leans toward pointed-toe pumps with a stiletto or block heel usually around 4 inches high. Louis Vuitton’s Eyeline silhouette remains one of her favorites, of course, but she also frequents the graphic-print Matchmake pump and booties. The former educator lives up to the style motifs of her native France, opting for layered looks and perfectly tailored pieces that keep up with the nation’s style aesthetic: chic, clean and understated, with just the right amount of je ne sais quoi.
