Kohl’s has kicked off its Black Friday sale.
The department store today launched its Black Friday Preview event, unveiled its Black Friday Ad and revealed the deals it would offer shoppers for the rest of the month.
“This holiday season is like no other and with holiday shopping starting even earlier, we’re excited to give customers great opportunities all month long to find the perfect gifts for everyone in their life at an incredible value they can only find at Kohl’s,” chief marketing officer Greg Revelle said in a statement. “To make it easier and fun to shop Kohl’s and understand the value we deliver, we’re simplifying our offers and doubling down on value.”
For today only, customers will be able to shop a curated selection of 100 deals — including $29.99 and under certain athletic shoes, 50% off matching family pajamas and 30% off select items from the Lego brand. Savings will continue through the rest of the weekend, from Nov. 7 to Nov. 10, with 120 deals, as well as additional markdowns on categories like apparel, home and toys. Shoppers will receive a 20% discount for online and in-store purchases, as well as have the chance to earn $15 in Kohl’s Cash coupons for every $50 spent at the retailer.
Then, from Nov. 11 to Nov. 21, guests will get 15% off purchases both in store and online, while Kohl’s cardholders have the opportunity to receive 15%, 20% or 30% off their carts. During the start of this period through Nov. 19, customers will also be able to earn $10 in Kohl’s Cash coupons for every $50 spent.
In the week leading up to Black Friday itself, Kohl’s plans to introduce its “Black Friday Week Deals.” Beginning Nov. 22, shoppers are able to take advantage of deals such as 20% off all beauty and fragrance products, 30% off Fisher-Price toys and $129.99 for the Fitbit Versa 2 Smartwatch. It will host its “Super Deals” event on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday, when customers can see 20% off all RayBan and Oakley sunglasses, 50% off select toys and games and $199.99 for a Google Nest Learning Thermostat.
On top of these discounts, guests shopping both in stores and on Kohls.com from Nov. 22 to Nov. 27 will be able to take home $15 in Kohl’s Cash coupons for every $50 spent. (The retailer has yet to announce plans for its Cyber Week event.)
In order to help shoppers feel safe amid the COVID-19 health crisis, Kohl’s has implemented a number of safety measures, including requiring face masks for everyone entering its outposts, encouraging social distancing, installing protective barriers at registers and cleaning checkout lanes, as well as providing touchless payment options through its app.
It also shared today that it would put additional precautions in place at its more than 1,160 locations as it anticipates higher foot traffic during the holiday shopping season: It plans to have a designated entrance at stores and additional doors available for the exit to control the flow of customers in and out of stores. What’s more, some associates will be stationed at the front of its units to distribute sanitized carts, offer free masks to customers who might not have them and limit occupancy as needed.
