Oofos is honoring hardworking teachers during this back-to-school season with a new giveback initiative.
The comfort and recovery footwear brand wants to bring educators ease of footwear through its Teacher Appreciation Donation program, a venture providing thousands of pairs of free shoes to teachers across the country. Through the program that runs from Sept. 18 until the end of the month, the brand will be tapping a few well-known community ambassadors and athletes to help the cause. Notable participants include Oofos brand partner and former NFL star Deion Sanders, along with NWSL’s Champion’s Cup team Houston Dash’s Jamia Fields and world Indoor T&F Championship medalist Jarret Eaton.
During the first phase of the new initiative, Oofos is set to donate more than 1,500 pairs of shoes to 14 different schools across the states. The schools encompass all parts of the country such as Oak Valley Middle School in San Diego, St. Brigid School in Boston and Timberlin Creek Elementary School in St. Augustine, Fl. In total, throughout the entirety of the program, the brand plans to give away 3,000 pairs of shoes to more than 30 schools nationwide.
Teachers will also be eligible to receive special discounts and offers online at Oofos.com through identification verification service RealID.me.
Oofos is best known for its ultra-comfortable footwear styles designed to wrap tired feet in support. The brand not only provides recovery footwear and special initiatives but also continuously gives back in collaboration with the Dana-Farber Breast Cancer Research Team — the company donates 2% of the proceeds from every shoe purchased to this cause to help support new medical breakthroughs. So far, the brand has donated more than $560,000 to the organization.
