Jordan Brand’s latest collab, in what it is calling its first-ever solely for women, comes with an incredible, respected co-sign in the fashion world: an OK from Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Arriving before month’s end is the Air Jordan 1 High Zip “AWOK,” named after what Wintour writes on editorial or creative pages of the magazine when approving them.
The shoe will come in a pair of colorways, university red and sail, and is executed with a soft leather upper with a metallic zipper and Swoosh branding. It also boasts an “Edited by Vogue” Nike Air tag and Wintour’s “AWOK” signature on the outsole and tongue.
The Air Jordan 1 High Zip “AWOK” arrives July 21 and will be available at Hirshleifers, Kith, Nordstrom x Nike and North America Jumpman Doors in Toronto and Chicago. The looks will also hit the SNKRS app on July 23 in North America.
Wintour and Jordan Brand also collaborated on another iconic shoe, the Air Jordan 3, which arrives Sept. 7.
The Air Jordan 3 “AWOK,” according to Nike, draws inspiration from Wintour’s suits and sunglasses, using tweed on the upper, coming in black and red colorways. The shoe’s heel also boasts her “AWOK” mark. The looks come in premium packaging with suede dust bags and an “Edited by Vogue” keychain.
