A New Off-White x Converse Chuck Taylor by Virgil Abloh Appears — but Will It Release?

UPDATE: This sneaker has been confirmed by Converse to not be an official release from the brand and Off-White.

In May, after months of anticipation, the Off-White x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star finally came out as the final release of Virgil Abloh’s “The Ten” collection with Nike — the rest of which dropped in the fall of 2017. The wait was worth it for sneaker and fashion connoisseurs, as the unique take on the iconic sneaker was another instant sellout for Abloh’s sneaker offerings and has since been garnering resale prices above $1,000 per pair. Now it looks like part 2 of the Off-White Chucks may soon be on the way.

New images surfaced this week of an all-new version by Abloh, unveiled by the @s.sam.group Instagram account, which often (and reliably) leaks early looks at some of the hottest sneakers.

In a series of four photos posted by the account, no full view of the Chucks in question can be seen, but one can get a pretty good idea of what they look like. This time, Abloh opted for a more traditional canvas construction than the translucent upper and outsole of the initial Off-White Chuck Taylor.

They aren’t without their own unique flair, however, as the upper features a split black and white color treatment with black on each lateral side and white on the medial sides. The Off-White “arrow” logo is found on the vulcanized midsole, while some of Abloh’s other signature motifs like the orange tab and bold text graphics are also present.

These four images are the only information on the shoe out there so far, and no release date, or if they will even ever release at all, is known at this point.
