The sneaker world has already enjoyed a few hit new models hitting the market this summer, from the Adidas Yung 1 to the Nike Element React 87. Now Adidas is ready to debut the next “it” sneaker of the season, the all-new Sobakov.
Actually, “all-new” isn’t quite accurate, as the kicks do draw a high amount of influence from the classic soccer silhouettes from the Three Stripes. But make no mistake, this is definitely a bold new design for the modern age.
For inspiration for the latest buzzworthy shoe, the brand cites terrace style, which is the traditional garb of U.K. soccer fans (often referred to as hooligans), characterized by pieces like track jackets, blue jeans and classic Adidas sneakers like the Samba and Gazelle. The Sobakov features a bold new twist on these traditional sneakers, with an eye-catching stripe design that runs from the heel to midfoot in a sweeping shape, a quilted mesh upper and a thick and wavy sole.
The Adidas Originals Sobakov debuts in two colorway options of black/white and all-white uppers, each with a gum rubber sole. Pairs land at Adidas.com and select retailers on July 21 for $120.
