Tennis Star Alexander Zverev Debuts as the Face of Z Zegna

Ermenegildo Zegna announced on Tuesday the face of its brand’s line Z Zegna, tennis star Alexander Zverev.

The athlete was joined by Gildo Zegna, the company’s CEO, and Alessandro Sartori, the brand’s artistic director, at a press conference during Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence, Italy. He wore an all-blue trio of tailored drawstring pants, a short sleeve shirt and blazer, completed with black oxfords.

Zverev, 21, is the youngest tennis player in the Association of Tennis Professionals top 20. The German sports star currently ranks third in the world.

The partnership is a big move for the luxury Italian fashion house. The 108-year-old company introduced Z Zegna as an urban take on the original Ermenegildo Zegna group.

Zverev is a perfect match (pun intended) for the brand as Z Zegna targets a younger, modern audience. As a 21-year-old, the tennis star epitomizes the incoming generation of stylish men.

The label mixes the signature Zegna tailoring with sportswear looks and moveable materials. Zverev takes on the role of modeling pieces like deconstructed jackets, tailored drawstring pants and unique bombers, all in line with the brand’s approach to wash-and-wear convenience.

Ermenegildo Zegna has roots in tennis culture, having built the Oasi Zegna tennis court in 1956 in Italy.
