The CMT (Country Music Television) Music Awards will air Wednesday, and it’s got us thinking about all the fashion from the red carpet in the past, especially the shoes. So in celebration of the annual awards ceremony, which will be hosted by Little Big Town in Nashville, Tenn., FN is taking a look back at some of the boldest footwear through the years.
In 2008, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles joined bandmate Kristian Bush and hit the carpet in a vibrant aqua one-shoulder dress paired with matching satin, bead-embellished ankle-strap platform sandals.
Carrie Underwood — who leads the pack with four CMT nominations this year — stole the show in 2012 with her black patent leather sky-high cut-out ankle booties and sparkling minidress.
In 2017, Miranda Lambert — whose music video “Tin Man” is nominated for Female Video of the Year — chose closed-toe crystal-embellished black ankle-strap pumps for the occasion, which she teamed with coordinating LBD boasting crystal detailing.
