The mood: Bonfire of The Vanities.
The front row: Chiara Ferragni, Charlie XCX, Leigh Lezark.
The shoes: All manner of black bad gal boots, from motorcycle to thigh highs. Some came graffitied with Moschino, others with gobs of pearls the size of gumballs. There were also ’80s patent pumps with silver toe embellishment, worn with era-true sheer noir hosiery.
There were a few standout frou-frou bowed styles too. Though it was hard to notice them when a chandelier is worn as a dress or a pouffy gown features large flame-induced holes and emits steam as the model saunters down the runway.
The verdict: How do you toughen up taffeta? Just add biker boots. And burn marks. No wonder invites came delivered with a matchbook.
