The Mood: Flouncy dresses, jacquard trousers and floral prints lent a brightened vibe to the tonally dark season. The dramatic red carpet gowns in particular were catered to the stars — perhaps Hillary Duff, who was seen front row.
The Shoes: Stiletto evening sandals were elevated by metallic socks that sparkled as models walked. Some heels had architectural shapes, but most were kept simple. T-strap and ankle-straps prevailed. Some had color-blocking, like a pink and red strappy style.
The Review: In a red carpet market dominated by the bigwigs like Stuart Weitzman, Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo, Lhuillier’s footwear lacks the luxury quality to stand out against its opponents. Still, the quirky sock styling at least offered some point of differentiation.
