The Mood: The film-noir patchwork panache of Jim Jarmusch’s “Only Lovers Left Alive” was Joseph Altuzarra’s starting point this season. Cue a vampiric palette and emo-eyeliner.
The Front Row: Emily Ratajkowski, Jamie King and Kate Bosworth
The Shoes: Croc-stamped or ponyhair tall and cropped booties came with sensible block heels. A green and black thigh-high version was particularly bewitching. Silk foulard and paisley prints also popped up on boots and vixenish ladder-strap pointed pumps.
The Review: Altuzarra flexed his footwear muscles more than ever this season, presenting a thoughtful variety of options that both elevated the ample luxuriousness of the collection and yet also, with those many low-heel heights, made it more wearable too. One request though: with so much covetable shearling outerwear on display (larger-than-life trend right now and into fall ’16) it would have been great to see what he could have cooked up with the fluffy stuff, shoe-wise.
