Adidas gained 444,969 new Facebook followers in April, outpacing other footwear brands by large numbers.
The sportswear label’s audience on the social networking site grew close to 13 percent ahead of Puma, which earned 336,248 new fans.
Some favorable factors in Adidas’ April performance included Facebook content featuring sports stars with large international fan bases in a “#Speedtakes” video campaign.
The athlete ambassadors were highlighted showing off their skills in the video series; the participants included Spanish tennis ace Garbiñe Muguruza, British cyclist Laura Trott, New Zealand rugby star Tyla Nathan-Wong and American soccer star Morgan Brian.
Among the other Top 50 brands that gained new Facebook followers last month, Nike ranked third with 151,452 fans, followed by Vans with 135,652 and Wolverine 1000 Mile Collection with 122,703 new followers.
