Last month, Under Armour hosted some of the country’s best basketball players for its annual Elite 24 showcase in Brooklyn, N.Y. For the fans, it was a chance to see some great hoops — and some great kicks.
The athletes on the court were, predictably, outfitted in the latest Under Armour gear, but in the crowd, sneaker lovers brought their A-game with a mix of styles, including casual New Balance and Vans retros and game-ready UAs, Nikes and Jordans.
Quite a few Swoosh sneakers were spotted in the crowd, including some of its signature athlete looks. One standout was this pair of Nike Kobe 10 Elite high-tops with a red-and-navy Flyknit upper.
And Under Armour had his own strong following at the event.
The Curry 2 from marquee partner Stephen Curry was a popular look, as were the brand’s Speedform running shoes and its original Clutchfit Drive basketball sneakers in an eye-catching red and white with coordinating socks.
But No. 23 got plenty of love, too, from hoops fans, who donned Jordans of every stripe. Among the highlights were a pair of Air Jordan 12 Retros in red and white, Air Jordan 9 Low laceups in Carolina blue and some classic Air Jordan 5s.
The real star, though, was a pair of the Supreme x Air Jordan 5 collab sneakers in a camo print. The seriously covetable kicks, which dropped last October, remain a hot item on the resale market: Flightclub.com has a pair of size 10s going for $500.
