Ivanka Trump, founder and CEO of the Ivanka Trump collection, gave Footwear News an inside scoop on what her favorite shoe moment was growing up and the one pair she would never get rid of.

“I have these suede knee-high flat boots that I bought in Paris with modeling money I earned when I was 15. I really saved up for that purchase, and I still have and wear them today, despite the fact that they are in very rough condition,” she said.
These days, Trump has many shoes to choose from her own collection, which she opted for most recently at the 2016 Met Gala in New York. The businesswoman hit the red carpet in a Ralph Lauren jumpsuit paired with shoes and a clutch from the Ivanka Trump collection.
On her favorite childhood shoe moment, Trump said, “Trying on all of my mother’s heels. As a child, I used to spend hours with her in the evenings in her closet as she got ready. I would try on everything, with a focus on her gorgeous high-heel shoes. She loved it, too — except for the mess I inevitably left in my wake.”

On her most memorable pair: “My Dr. Martens and Mary Janes. I remember very protracted phases of loving both those styles.”
As of Tuesday night, Trump was spotted with her father, Donald Trump, and his wife, Melania, in New York for a primary night news conference. Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican presidential nominee following Ted Cruz’s decision to drop out of the race after losing the Indiana primary. Ohio Gov. John Kasich is expected to suspend his presidential campaign today.
