Toms & Oceana Team Up To Save The Sea Turtle

Toms has teamed up with ocean-conservation nonprofit Oceana on a new shoe collaboration benefiting one of the most endangered animals in the oceans: the sea turtle.

The new collection features several styles from sneakers to classic slip-ons decked out with turtles and with prints inspired by the oceans. All profits from the shoes directly benefit Oceana’s efforts to preserve and protect the oceans and the animals that live in them.

The Toms team and Toms Animal Initiative founder Heather Mycoskie said they decided to feature the rare sea turtle because every species of sea turtle found in the U.S. is threatened or endangered. The turtles are especially vulnerable to being accidentally caught in fishermen’s nets, and the animals’ nesting grounds on popular beaches are often at risk.

There are three styles in the collection for men, women, kids and babies.

“I’m a beach girl at heart and always have been, so when I heard about Oceana and the amazing work they do, I knew we needed to find a way to work together. I’m really proud of the collaboration and product we’ve created together,” said Mycoskie.

The shoes are available online starting today and retail from $36 to $64.
