Reef is teaming up with fellow California surf-inspired brand Boy + Girl on a new capsule collection of sandals called Boy + Girl x Reef.
Boy + Girl is a children’s brand based in Venice, Calif., and founded by Christine Chang, who has previously worked at Ralph Lauren, ABC Home and Nike. Her children’s apparel is produced in downtown Los Angeles and uses natural fabrics sourced from Japanese, European and American mills.
Now Chang is making something for the grown-ups. The Boy + Girl x Reef capsule collection includes sandals for women and men. The women’s ankle-strap sandal, offered in white and powder pink, features crackled matte leather, a raw leather footbed and a Vibram rubber sole.
The men’s flip-flop comes in both a black and blue cotton webbing upper with the same raw leather footbed as the women’s shoe and a Virbam sole.
Additionally, there will be a men’s apparel element to the collection that will be available in limited release to select retailer in Japan on April 16.
Both the men’s and women’s styles are available for $140 on reef.com.
