The boot — a style that Opening Ceremony pulled from Timberland’s archives when the two first started collaborating in 2009 — replaces normal laces with an elastic lacing system. The 6-inch boot is offered in four colorways of waterproof leather: black, burgundy/brown, wheat/brown and “Canteen,” taking inspiration from America’s natural lush landscapes.
Timberland’s logo remains on the side of the boot, while Opening Ceremony’s torch logo is featured on the tongue. The boots retail for $250 and are offered in men’s sizes 6.5 to 12.
“Timberlands have been a part of my style since childhood,” said Opening Ceremony co-founder Humberto Leon. “The elastic laces were my go-to look in high school and still are today.”
Over the years, Opening Ceremony has offered several iterations of the Convenience boot, as well as Timberland’s 7-eye moccasin boot and more.
