The collection, which launched today on Nasty Gal’s website, features a wide selection of items that reflect Love’s quintessential gothic-chic style.
There are satin baby-doll dresses and lacy lingerie, velvet chokers and crystal headbands. And best of all, there’s a small offering of shoes, including a mesh pointy-toe pump; a suede Mary Jane on a low heel embellished with rhinestones; and a suede sandal on a tall, chunky heel. The shoes are priced from $69 to $110.
To fête the launch of the collection, Love joined Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso and scores of friends for a celebration last night in Los Angeles, complete with big slices of birthday cake. Also in attendance were Hollywood insiders Eli Roth, Jacqui Getty and Peter Brant.
Retailer Nasty Gal has been tight-lipped about the Love, Courtney line. Back in December, it offer a cryptic tease on its Instagram feed, but has kept details under wraps until this week, when it headed to the social world again to promote the launch.
Since launching as an e-commerce company in 2006, Nasty Gal has grown steadily, opening a freestanding store on Melrose Avenue in 2014 and naming former Lululemon exec Sheree Waterson as CEO early last year. This latest collab is a natural union for the firm and is sure to ignite some buzz for the retailer.
