Adidas Originals is continuing its Italian love affair with a second capsule collection of sneakers for spring/summer 2016 in collaboration with the publicly listed Italia Independent, which was co-founded by entrepreneur Lapo Elkann. The creative teams of both partners teamed up for the capsule that features the three styles ZX Flux, Los Angeles and Vantage Court, which each come in two versions.
The two companies first teamed up in April 2014 for a line of sunglasses, but extended their creative partnership with a capsule of accessories and six versions of the ZX Flux style, which bowed in October 2015.
For the Los Angeles trainer, soft leather and woven fabric was used for the tip of the upper, available in a khaki and blue denim tone, each decorated with printed canvas detailing, contrast stitching and a metal lace clip.
The first version of the ZX Flux features a black and white tribal pattern on the nylon upper, a white heel cage and the three iconic side stripes in transparent silicone to blend in with the rest of the shoe. Colorful geometric and floral patterns are printed on top of the second version’s black upper, which features a white contrasting rubber sole and painted, black side stripes.
A more minimalistic approach was taken for the Court Vantage style, which comes in all-white and all-black and takes inspiration from the automobile world with a diamond pattern that recalls the interior trim of sports cars. A pop of color is sneaking up from the soles of the two styles, either bright red on the black style or green on the white version.
Available of now, the capsule is sold in Italia Independent and Adidas Originals stores, as well as online and at selected Adidas retailers, starting from 75 euros, or $85 for the Court Vantage, up to 105 euros, or $118 for the Los Angeles trainers.
