Portugese brand Josefinas is celebrating craftsmanship. In honor of Portuguese women embroiderers, the label launched the Rose Couture sneakers.
The standout style is embroidered with roses that each took 16 hours to make. The work was done in the Sousa Valley, north of Portugal, where the craft is passed down from generation to generation.
“It’s on a white pair of sneakers that the hand-embroidered roses come to life; we created something simple, but extraordinarily beautiful,” said CEO Maria Cunha.

The style, priced at $624, is available on the brand’s website and in stores. The label opened its first store in New York City’s Nolita neighborhood in July.
Owner and designer Sofia Oliveira said of the space, “Every time I enter the store, I stop for two seconds and just smile. That’s how good it makes me feel. It looks beautiful and feminine, elegant and not over-girly. All the details together create a simple yet extraordinary store.”
