Amélie Pichard and The Webster are tickled pink about Miami in a new collaboration.
The Parisian brand teamed with the luxury boutique on a capsule collection that launched Thursday in Florida’s sun-soaked playground during Art Basel, an annual showcase of art and fashion that wraps on Sunday.
The Amélie Pichard x The Webster collection includes some of the label’s core styles, including slingback pumps, mules with Lucite heels, platform sandals and a handbag — all reimagined in terry cloth with The Webster’s signature pink hue.
Prices range from $325 to $501, and Pichard’s nods to the city includes an alligator detail on the handbag, and “Miami” emblazoned on the sandals and mules. The collaboration is available exclusively at The Webster’s Miami Beach outpost, as well as online and at its pop-up store at the Ritz Hotel in Paris.
Laure Heriard Dubreuil’s curated luxury boutique is the first retailer to partner with Brand Pichard’s new exclusives-only whole business model, which was announced Nov. 18. Dubreuil recently celebrated the launch of her fourth iteration of The Webster at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif., and also has stores in Houston, and Bal Harbour, Fla.
Pichard’s new wholesale strategy means that the label’s products will be custom and exclusive to each retailer — that is, no store will sell the same items, including the brand’s own sales channels.
“This way of doing business is empowering, I am creating an authentic Pichard product that speaks directly to my retailer’s customer; they know their customers extremely well and with this knowledge together we are able to create a meaningful product,” Pichard said in a statement.
Pichard’s wares are sold in trendy boutiques such as Dover Street Market, Colette and Opening Ceremony. Her line of shoes, handbags and accessories are also sold via the brand’s e-commerce store, and there are plans to open doors next year in a physical location in Paris next year.
“As a designer, I am thrilled to have more opportunities for creativity,” she added. “I am confident that our sell-through will be significant as we are bringing together our mutual expertise, each collaboration will have a strong point of view and clear message.”
