After Adidas Originals unveiled it’s latest collection with Pharrell Williams on Sept. 26, the diversity-inspired sneakers officially launched in the U.S. today. But if you didn’t jump on them early via adidas.com, you now have to hit the secondary market for a pair.
The Sept. 29 release of the Pharrell Williams x Adidas Hu Race NMD included five colorways of the sneaker — “Core Black,” “Scarlet,” “Tangerine,” “Green,” and “Sharp Blue.” Based loosely on the original NMD design, the Williams’s iteration features a revamped upper and lacing system. Each pair also features different bold embroidered text that ties back to the collaboration’s human diversity theme.
This latest drop comes on the heels of July 2016’s Hu Race NMD release in yellow. The yellow pair sold out promptly, and its August restock was met with similar enthusiasm, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the latest colorways were also quick to sell through.
While the Pharrell Williams x Adidas Originals Hu Race apparel remains on adidas.com, all five of the sneakers sold out within minutes of their 10 a.m. ET launch, and many pairs are already on eBay — with inflated prices.
As of 12:20 p.m. ET, eBay has several listings for the sneakers above the $1,000 mark, with two pairs boasting a $1,499 asking price. If you want to get your hands on these, it’s going to cost a pretty penny to say the least.
