The collection features mini versions of some of the most popular styles from the brand’s women’s range, such as glitter-finished, tweed and fur sneakers, all featuring the label’s signature bunny ears. Harrods will also carry a number of exclusive styles including a pair of floral-printed loafers and a pair of white high-top sneakers decorated with gold cutout stars.
The new range is following on the success of the brand’s “Baby Me” collection of first-step shoes. It will include sizes 21-34 to cater to both young toddlers and teenagers.
To mark the launch, Parikka has worked with the famous Knightsbridge department store on a pop-up shop at the shoe room of its children’s department. The space features a 7 meter wall decorated with flowers and glitter and an interactive display in line with the pop-up’s “Follow the Bunny” theme, chosen to coincide with Easter. Young customers will be able to follow the bunny-themed sneakers scattered around the space on shelves and peekaboo boxes.
“Working with the world-famous department store on the launch of our kid’s line is a dream come true,” said Minna Parikka. “Harrods gave us an entire wall to play with and we wanted to create something that has the same adorable spirit as our mini bunnies. The colours and materials of the collection come together on the ‘Follow the bunny’ themed display.”
Prices range between $145 and $275, and the pop-up will be open at the Knightsbridge department store Friday through May 8.
Helsinki-based Minna Parikka launched her eponymous label in 2005 which went on to become famous for its playful, social media-friendly designs and signature bunny ear appliqués added on sneakers and loafers. Famous fans include Lady Gaga, Cara Delevingne and Taylor Swift.
