Julia Restoin Roitfeld is well known among fashionable moms for her super-cool “Romy and the Bunnies” style and lifestyle blog.

Now, the famous model and art director is turning her hand to designing. Roitfeld has partnered with global retailer River Island to launch an exclusive children’s collection, spanning 30 pieces including a sweater dress, silk blouse, varsity bomber jacket and denim overalls.

The lineup also includes four adorable shoes with a little old-fashioned flair: a glossy patent leather Chelsea boot ($40) and Mary Jane shoe ($38) for girls, and two leather brogue boots ($60) for boys. The shoes are available in baby and toddler sizes 4 to 9.

Roitfeld, mom to 4-year-old daughter Romy, said she turned to old photos from her childhood for design ideas. “The inspiration behind the collection is looks I wore as a kid,” explained Roitfeld, who grew up in Paris and is the daughter of former French Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld. “I always want to dress my daughter in clothes like in my childhood pictures. It’s close to impossible to find vintage styling for kids. The overall influence is French mixed with American vintage.”

Roitfeld describes the pieces as “super classic and cool,” and said many are designed to be unisex. “You can buy it for your daughter and pass it down to your son, or vice versa. They’re pieces that can stay within the family.”
