The countdown to Easter Sunday on March 27 has begun and getting ready includes stocking up on Peeps, Cadbury eggs and footnotes for girls in pretty pastels.
The days of the quintessential Easter footnote, a pair of classic white patent leather Mary Janes is long gone. Today, this fashion relic has been replaced by more versatile styles with wearing potential way past the holiday season. And, since the casual movement has made its way into churches, footwear has followed suit in more relaxed, easy-to-wear looks.

That doesn’t mean girls don’t want to look feminine, continuing with their passion for anything pink and purple, which also happen to be popular hues when it comes to another Easter favorite — jelly beans.
For girls who prefer a more rugged approach to Easter dressing, Akid does a pink hiker complete with color-cued lug outsole. Girlie girls can step into a color-blocked ankle sandal done in soft pink, lavender, yellow and white from Sophia Webster.
For a more functional way to get in the Easter spirit, Gucci does a rubber logo ballet style, while Mini Melissa adds a sweet bow trim to a water-friendly Mary Jane in blush or fuchsia.
Also thinking pink is Burberry, using it as a trim on a Velcro-close sneaker in plaid. For those girls who may have been denied a real Easter bunny, Yikestwins adds a bunny face to its slippers. And, for those little-big-girls, Keds interprets its classic Champion style in chambray with lace overlay.
