What Dads Really Think Of The Stephen Curry Under Armour ‘Chef’ Shoes

We know that Solange Knowles loves her Under Armour Curry 2 “Chef” sneakers — the same sneakers that were ridiculed on social media earlier this summer for their orthopedic, dad-like aesthetics. But what do actual dads think of the shoes?

Thankfully, GQ is on the case, and it sent a reporter into the streets of New York City to find out first-hand what fathers think of the “Chef” sneakers, which have been dubbed with descriptions such as “Dads night out starter pack” and “the official shoe of the line for the blood pressure machine at the pharmacy.”

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the UA Curry sneakers received rave reviews across the board.

“It’s well made, very comfortable inside. [I would wear it] in a heartbeat,” stated one father.

“I like white tennis shoes, yeah, I’d wear them, of course. [I’d wear them] everywhere,” proclaimed another.

Despite the seemingly negative backlash of the shoes on social media, the viral attention actually proved to be a good thing for Under Armour. “In our channel checks and discussion with industry contacts, the ‘Chef’ has actually sold better than some of its predecessor color ways, likely due to all the attention paid to it,” an analyst said.

Recently, a leaked image purporting to be James Harden’s first Adidas signature sneakers also felt the wrath of Twitter.
