A limited-edition shoe from Under Armour was released exclusively today at the Manhattan location of renowned boutique Concepts.
The Curry Lux, available in five colorways, is a street fashion-inspired collection with a tailored aesthetic of Stephen Curry off-court. Details include premium leather, suede and metallic finishing. The footwear retails for $150 for the mid style and $140 for the low style.
Katie Lau, senior product line manager at Under Armour, told Footwear News, “This is our first foray of thinking about Steph Curry off-court. We were looking at way to evolve and extend the Curry One.”
The black leather colorway of the shoe features an entirely black upper with a white midsole and classic gum outsole. The shoe also boasts a tan leather lining.
“For me, he is a quality player, so the shoe really needed to do justice to his game and to the brand,” Lau added.
Concepts is the first boutique Under Armour has partnered with. “Concepts started as a skate store in Cambridge, Mass., so it started in sport and expanded to fashion and style. It syncs up with what we are doing with the Curry One, which is taking a performance shoe and extending it to allow fans to wear shoes off the court,” Lau said.
The collection will be also be available at select retailers over the weekend.
