Toronto Blue Jay Player Gifts Drake Signed Air Jordan Cleats After Series Sweep

The Toronto Blue Jays have their eyes set on the 2016 World Series. After the team’s 7-6 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday, the Blue Jays have advanced to the American League Championship Series.

As pitcher Marcus Stroman and his teammates celebrated with champagne following the extra-innings win, Canadian rapper Drake took in the moment from afar.

Drake continues to share his love for all Toronto sports, and that includes the Blue Jays. On Sunday night, after the Jays finished their three-game ALDS sweep over the Rangers, Drake took to Instagram to give a shout-out to his hometown team.

Stroman, a fellow Jordan Brand ambassador, sent a pair of his cleats to Drake, signed, “The Boy, Just trying to carry the wave for the 6!” His baseball shoes are Air Jordan 4 Player Exclusives in Blue Jays-inspired colorways.

Drake has his own ongoing collaboration with Jordan Brand and has produced two official releases: “October’s Very Own” colorways of the Air Jordan 10 in black and white, and the recently released OVO x Air Jordan 12.
