When StockX made its debut in February, sneakerheads were introduced to an online stock market focused on the multi-billion dollar secondary sneaker market. Now, the Detroit-based company made viewing StockX easier for people on the go.
The StockX app is now available in the Apple App Store, the company announced today.
The app brings its fast and safe platform for buying authentic sneakers to your Apple mobile devices, allowing users to buy and sell sneakers while out and about the same way you do from your computer. According to StockX, although the app is now only available in the Apple App Store, a version for Android users is on the way.
Back in February, StockX – the evolution of the Josh Luber-founded Campless – made its debut, functioning similarly to e-commerce and auction websites where people can buy and sell limited edition products anonymously. StockX offers stock market-like visibility and provides an experience similar to the trading experience on the New York Stock Exchange, offering participants the ability to see information on historical price and volume metrics, real-time bids and offers, time-stamped trades and additional analytics on every sneaker model presented on the marketplace.
“The online secondary sneaker market has been around for more than 15 years, and it has grown exponentially during that time, but up until today, was still using outdated e-commerce platforms designed in the late 90’s,” Luber said in a statement. “The simplicity and sophistication of a stock market is the perfect platform to catapult the industry into present day and well beyond.”
