Steph Curry wouldn’t mind if technology could one day replace human referees on the basketball court.
The Golden State Warriors star shared this and other thoughts during a Q&A event at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco on Sept. 13. Moderator Jordan Crook floated the idea that technology is at a point where it could replace referees, to which Curry responded, “I would love that.”
“I would have to throw my mouthpiece at those new inventions,” he said, laughing, referencing the incident during Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, when Curry chucked his mouthpiece after fouling out. He was fined $25,000, as was Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who during the postgame press conference was very critical of the refs.

Crook also worked in some other fun questions. When asked, “Hillary or Trump?” Curry replied, “Hillary,” to the applause of the audience.
