SeaVees and Taylor Stitch are testing the waters together.
The labels have partnered to launch SeaVees’ surf culture-inspired 12/64 Huntington Middie shoes through a crowdfunding campaign, running Sunday through May 1.
The campaign will run similar to Kickstarter’s approach, in which the slip-on ankle boots will be listed for pre-order on Taylor Stitch’s website before the footwear is manufactured.
During the workshop period, the Huntington Middies will cost $87 — later retailing for $108 after the promotion.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Taylor Stitch to pre-launch the Huntington Middie boot to its engaged, active audience of customers,” SeaVees CEO and chief designer Steven Tiller said.
“Inspired by the casual, coastal lifestyle of Southern California,” Tiller explained, “the Middie is easy to slip on and versatile enough to dress up or down—we think it’s the perfect shoe for the Taylor Stitch gentleman.”
Taylor Stitch co-founder Mike Maher said he was “ecstatic” after Tiller showed him the shoes.
The footwear pays a nod to 1960s California surfer style, featuring modern design treatments like soft suede uppers, high sidewalls, a perforated comfort footbed and SeaVees’ signature rubber herringbone outsole. Colorways include oyster, sable and deep navy.
